Ally Finance customers are required to have certain paperwork in order to drive to Mexico:
You must obtain Mexico Auto Insurance from an authorized insurer in Mexico by purchasing a policy that meets Ally's requirements for Liability, and Theft or Damage to the vehicle.
Your Ally finance account must be paid up to-date.
When both of these conditions are met, Ally Finance will then provide you a permission letter authorizing you to take the vehicle to Mexico.
Following are the requirements for obtaining a Letter of Permission to enter Mexico with a Ally financed vehicle:
Customer must provide Mexico Insurance Verification which includes the following:
Ally listed as lienholder/loss payee
Customer and/or cobuyer listed as the insured
Policy must meet the following deductible criteria:
Total Theft Deductible 5% of the vehicle value (subject to policy minimums) OR a fixed deductible of no more than $1000.
Minimum Liability Coverage $100,000 combined single limit (CSL).
Policy dates must cover the dates of travel. Customers MUST obtain adequate physical damage coverage to cover Collision and Theft coverage for the Actual Cash Values (current market value) of the vehicle. If a loss occurs while in Mexico, the customer will be held responsible for any charges not covered by the loss settlement.
Once you purchase your Mexico Auto Insurance via this link, your policy information is automatically uploaded to Ally Finance.
